Good evening, Union R-XI Families:
We hope everyone is having a great school year thus far! We’d like to take a moment to share some information about the state testing that occurred this past spring.
The Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) Grade-Level Assessments and End of Course (EOC) exams evaluate students’ progress toward the Missouri Learning Standards. The MAP Grade-Level Assessments include assessments in the subject areas of Communication arts (grades 3-8), Mathematics (grades 3-8), and Science (grades 5 and 8). The EOC, End of Course Assessments include assessments in the subject areas of Algebra I, Biology, English II, and Government. These assessments provide important information that contributes to decisions concerning individual students, groups of students, and educational programs.
We have recently received your child’s Individual Student Report (ISR). This report includes an Achievement Level, which will describe his or her performance for the grade level and content area as Below Basic, Basic, Proficient, or Advanced. The report will also include a short description of the knowledge and skills that are typically demonstrated by students in each Achievement Level for their grade level and content area.
We plan to send these reports home at the Middle School and High School with the first round of progress reports, as well as share them at the elementary schools at parent/teacher conferences. If you would like your child's report prior to that time, please reach out to your building counselor for the report.
We deeply value our students and know that they are SO much more than a test score on paper; however, we are also extremely proud of the hard work they put in. We are excited to share in their accomplishments on these state assessments as their hard work pays off. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or we can help in any way!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful first day of school. There were so many smiling faces and excited students all across our district!
We know there were some delays today with dismissal, so we most certainly appreciate your patience. Please know we are making adjustments and modifications and hope to minimize delays over the next few days.
Thank you again for your continued partnership and have a wonderful rest of your week!

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) Kickoff to Start the Year
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework that aims to establish the foundation for delivering regular, proactive support and preventing unwanted behaviors. During our first weeks of school, we will spend time learning and practicing our school wide behaviors. This common language creates consistency and a unified support for expected student behavior. Children thrive when they have consistent, predictable expectations and consequences. These are some of the components of the PBIS Framework:
Students can earn Paw Points and Paw Parties for showing their ROAR
Students can earn Wildcat Wows for showing their ROAR
Students can be selected for a leadership breakfast
Students can be selected for academic recognition for doing their Wildcat Best on their school work
We celebrate as a whole building every quarter for meeting PBIS goals
We show our ROAR at Prairie Dell Elementary. We teach and expect our students to be RESPECTFUL, take OWNERSHIP, have a positive ATTITUDE, and be RESPONSIBLE.
Welcome Mrs. Thurmond to the kindergarten team at Prairie Dell.
Welcome Mrs. Gildehaus to the first grade team at Prairie Dell.
Improvements!
No more cones on our posts for pickups and drop offs--we painted the posts to make them easier to see and easier for students to know where to stand. We are always making improvements.
Welcome Mrs. Stolte to your new role as a Special Education Teacher at Prairie Dell.

One single donor can save and help up to 8 lives and enhance 50 others, in less than 60 seconds you can take the steps to have your name added to the donor registry list.
